This table was designed to complement the painting Massachusetts-based artists Jamaal Eversley and Melissa Shaak created, "Seer," along with a similarly titled poem by Mary Pinard which served as the third leg of this creative triumvirate. It was displayed at the Beacon Gallery in Boston, MA in October and November of 2020 as a part of artist Jamaal Eversley’s Real F.R.I.E.N.D.S Exhibit.

The table base is constructed from natural pine wood with a stainless steel mirrored top. It started as a piece of raw pine trunk procured from Mystic Farm in Pennsylvania. The trunk was hand carved with a vine or seaweed design to add a beautiful touch of artistry while still maintaining the wood’s natural appearance. The base was then charred with an oxy-acetylene torch, and the high spots sanded down to reveal the natural, light colored pine underneath. The base was then polyurethane coated to lock in the finish. We added a newer, modern mirrored tabletop punched with sporadic clusters of bumps, to represent bubbles beneath the surface of water. The side of the table top is hand carved with a checker design. The base also boasts wrapped steel bands as trim pieces.

Dimensions: Table is 31”h x 44”l x 27”w.
